At SOMA we are committed to giving 10% of all church offerings to varioius ministries - we call this our church tithe.
Our First Fruits team prayerfully considers where our tithe should go. They do so in a way that lines up with our church vision of actively loving those in Sonoma County and around the world.
Some of the recipients of our tithe are:
- InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (North Bay).
- Sending one of our College Students to the Urbana 2015 Conference.
- Helping send a married couple to Thailand to minister to those caught in human trafficing.
- Love in Action Christian Outreach (Philippines) - helping with their annual shoe box outreach and providing a portable sound system.
- Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) - our association/denomination.
- Western District of the EFCA - the "local" distict of our association/denomination.
- SF Mission - a church plant in San Francisco, click here for an update from Brent Kompelien.
- Vintage Grace Church (Folsom) - providing Children's Ministry resources for this church plant.
- Sponsoring a national Pastor in India through Good Shepherd Church of India.
- Makarios school in the Dominican Republic.
- "Comfort of Hope" homeless outreach (Santa Rosa).
