Speaking about 1 John 2:5-6, commentator John Stott says,
“It is not enough to obey ‘his word’ (5a); we must walk as Jesus did… Christian conformity is to the example of Jesus as well as to his commands. We cannot claim to live in him unless we behave like him.”
So how did Jesus behave? How did he walk... how did he live? When we look at the life of Jesus, we see patterns or examples. This sermon introduces five patterns from Jesus' life that in return give us patterns for spiritual growth and transformation:
