The message of the book of Hosea is simply that God really loves us. He really loves us.
And as one author writes:
"The unfaithfulness of Israel calls for a permanent remedy, which will come in the faithfulness of Christ to the Father and the faithfulness that Christ then works through the Spirit in his people. God’s love for Israel foreshadows Christ’s love for the church (Eph. 5:25–27)." - The ESV Study Bible
