Our religion must affect us now and later. The parable of the Rich Man & Lazarus speaks and warns us concerning this truth.
That is, our “faith”, our relationship with God, our spirituality, must mark us here and now in this life AS WELL as later after we die.
And if we have truly encountered the living God through the person and work of Jesus Christ, as recorded and preserved for us in the Bible, we will! We will be changed more and more now and we will be prepared for life after death - and life after life after death (N. T. Wright).
