The prologue (John 1:1-18) of the Gospel according to John is about the theology of Christmas. As New Testament scholar D. A. Carson summarizes, it describes "how the Son of God was sent into the world to become the Jesus of history, so that the glory and grace of God might be uniquely and perfectly known."
