New Year's Day - Warm Hat & Warm Meal
January 1, 2017
10:00am – 1:00pm
Location: 709 Davis Street, Santa Rosa, CA 95401
Let's start the New Year together doing what SOMA loves to do, loving and serving the community.
You can't drive around town lately without seeing many people living on the street who need physical care AND love. God expects us to serve and love his children, especially the poor and oppressed.
So on New Year's day, after a shorter-than-normal church service, we will walk across the block near 7th and Davis to serve a warm meal to our friends on the street with "Comfort of Hope- Homeless Outreach". The lunch will be served around 11:30.
A special part of the warm lunch will be a handmade gift made by Yvonne Lewis Aaseth. She has been crocheting hats to give as gifts and has enough for all our guests.
Invite a friend to come help. After church we will carry over tables and chairs and the warm spaghetti meal. The more help we have the faster we can serve.
Let's show Jesus love in a practical way.
Proverbs 14:31 Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
